At University of Oregon, we are dedicated to providing out students with hands-on learning experiences that bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world application. The Training Security Operations Center (TSOC) is a unique educational initiative designed to immerse students in the daily operations of a Security Operations Center (SOC) where they monitor client networks, respond to incidents, and manage threats under the guidance of cybersecurity experts.
History of TSOC
The idea of creating a Teaching SOC was conceived in 2023 in support of our growing Cybersecurity programs. We plan to start operation in the Summer of 2025 and offer the first TSOC class in the Fall 2025.
Our Mission
Our mission is to equip the next generation of cybersecurity professionals with the hands-on experience, technical skills, and critical thinking abilities necessary to protect and defend digital infrastructure aganist evolving cyber threats. By integrating real-world operations into the educational process, we prepare our students to make an immediate impact in the cybersecurity workforce.
Through the TSOC program, we provide essential services to small organizations, including K-12 schools, non-profits, small counties, and local government agencies, while simultaneously offering our students unique learning environemnt.
TSOC Team
The TSOC program is supported by a dedicated team of security professionals who bring both academic expertise and practical industry experience. Our faculty and mentors work closely with students, offering guidance, feedback, and industry insights.
